One of the major advantages of iCluster is that the metadata is readily available to consultants and partners for customer use. This means it is very easy to create your own CL programs to handle common tasks using iCluster or to query iCluster files to search for suspended objects, journal positions etc. At iCluster 7.1 TR1 the metadata was simplified, including the following changes:
- A GROUP field was added to the metadata files that previously had only a GRPID field. You use the group name to view all of the metadata that pertains to a group.
- The SRCSERIALNUM and SRCSERIALNUMBER fields were removed from the metadata files that had those fields.
- The OMFOBJ, OMFOG, HABSFBASE, HABSFREL, and HABSFOBJ files were removed.
If your processes or homegrown CL or RPG programs rely on the metadata structure, you might need to modify them if you have upgraded, or are planning on upgrading to iCluster 7.1 TR1.
